Gloucester softball brings home Division 2 North title

The Gloucester High School softball team (20-3, second seed) cruised past Triton (19-2), the top seed, in the Division 2 North championship game last Saturday, June 15, at Lowell’s Martin Field, 14-6.

Since then, the Fishermen took on Norton (19-4, fifth seed), the South champs, Tuesday night, June 18, in a state semifinal game after press deadline, with the winner going to the state title game Saturday, June 22, at Worcester State against the victor of the other state semifinal encounter between Hudson and Hampshire.
